The regional state of Puntland is interested in pursuing collaborative efforts on climate change with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

This emerged on Monday during a meeting between Mohamed Farole and the UNDP delegation led by Muuse Ducaale.

Farole, Puntland’s Minister of Environment and Climate Change, briefed the UNDP team on the climate change initiatives that the regional government has launched.

He added that the regional state would also collaborate with the UNDP and other like-minded organizations on environmental protection.

Farole and Ducaale both agreed on the importance of creating a sustainable Puntland, especially in the wake of worsening climate crisis.
