Environmental stakeholders in Somaliland recently held a quarterly meeting focused on climate change under the leadership of Shukri Haji Ismail Bandare, the Minister of Environment and Climate Change.

This meeting, which was in Hargeisa, brought together various representatives from government bodies, local non-governmental organizations (NGOs), international organizations, and community leaders to discuss pressing environmental challenges facing Somaliland.

The agenda covered topics such as sustainable land management, water scarcity, deforestation, and the impacts of climate change on local communities and agriculture.

Participants emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing these issues, including enhancing climate resilience through community-based initiatives, developing sustainable agricultural practices, and strengthening policies for natural resource management.

The meeting underscored the need for continued dialogue and cooperation among all stakeholders to effectively combat climate change and protect Somaliland’s environment for future generations.
