The YALI Regional Leadership Center East Africa’s Somali Chapter is excited to announce that it hosted a Pre-COP29 Youth Training Workshop for Somali climate activists jointly with other organizations.

In partnership with UBB and PUSAN, this workshop, which takes place ahead of the 2024 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29), equipped young Somali leaders with the skills and knowledge needed to advocate for climate action.

Participants will also acquire the skills and knowledge required to effectively represent Somalia’s unique climate challenges on global platforms.

This initiative aims to empower Somali youth to engage meaningfully in discussions about climate resilience and sustainable development at the upcoming COP29, which runs from November 11-22 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
