Officials from Somalia’s Ministry of Energy and Water Resources participated at the 2024 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29) in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The delegation from the energy minister participated sessions and discussions that primarily focused on renewable energy.

They attended various side events that explored key aspects such as renewable energy utilization, investment opportunities, and the advanced technologies involved in implementing sustainable solutions.

This engagement underscores Somalia’s commitment to integrating renewable energy into its national development agenda, particularly as the country faces challenges from climate change and aims to build a resilient energy sector.
