A senior Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) says that agriculture could help to solve the climate crisis in Somalia.

Beth Bechdol, FAO’s Deputy Director-General, said this during her meeting with top Somali government officials in Mogadishu.

Bechdol’s meeting with government officials took place at Villa Somalia.

Officials from the Office of the Prime Minister were at the meeting with Bechdol.

Bechdol discussed issues on climate change and resilience with the officials from the office of Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre.

Etienne Peterschmitt, the FAO Representative and Country Director for Somalia, welcomed Bechdol to the nation.

He expressed hope that her visit would highlight urgent climate crisis in the East African nation.
