The Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, led by minister Mohamed A. Hayir Maareeye, welcomed the Inclusive Resilience in Somalia (IRiS) Programme team to its Mogadishu offices on Monday.

The IRiS team was headed by Chief-of-Party Dr. Robert Mwadime.

Maareeye and the IRiS delegation discussed several issues during their meeting at the ministry’s Conference Room.

IRiS, a $65 million initiative running over five years, aims to enhance the resilience of Somali communities against persistent climatic shocks and economic stresses.

Key partners in the program include DT Global (Prime), Mercy Corps, Save the Children, SATG, and ITAD.

Together, they work to bolster sustainable agricultural practices and community capacity, crucial for Somalia’s long-term stability and growth.
