Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi, the Minister of Environment and Climate Change of Somalia, recently met with the Natural Resources Committee of the Senate (Upper House) to discuss accountability for environmental and climate issues.

Tuesday’s meeting covered the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change’s plans and ongoing projects, as well as strategies for regional cooperation.

The discussion also addressed several specific concerns, including illegal tree cutting, noise pollution, and issues related to antenna installations, highlighting the need for better regulation and enforcement to protect Somalia’s environment.
