Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi, the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, has called upon all Somalis in the country to get behind the One House, On Tree campaign that her ministry launched this week.

While launching the “One House, One Tree” campaign in the Abdi Aziz district of the Benadir region, she stressed that it represents a significant step towards environmental sustainability and community involvement in Somalia.

By encouraging each household to plant and nurture a garden tree, the initiative aims to create greener, more resilient neighborhoods while addressing the pressing challenges of desertification and environmental degradation.

This program aligns with Somalia’s broader national goals of restoring ecosystems and mitigating the impacts of climate change, fostering a collective effort in climate action and environmental restoration.

The campaign not only beautifies the area but also strengthens community bonds through shared responsibility for the environment.
