At the ongoing Somali Disaster Resilience Conference in Mogadishu, Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation, Ali Yusuf Hosh, highlighted ongoing efforts by the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SODMA) to address environmental disasters.

Specifically, he said that SODMA will work on ways of mitigating and reducing climate-related environmental disasters in different parts of the country.

He emphasized that SODMA, in collaboration with researchers and experts, is actively working on strategies to mitigate and reduce the impact of recurrent natural disasters, which have posed significant challenges to many communities across Somalia.

This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing disaster resilience and fostering sustainable development amid the country’s vulnerability to climate-related risks.
