Somalia’s Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Ambassador Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi, says that the country remains committed to planting 10 million trees by 2030.
She said this today while attending the Middle East Green Initiative (MGI) Ministerial Meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
During the meeting, Al-Makhzoumi reaffirmed Somalia’s commitment to contributing to the MGI’s ambitious goal of planting 50 billion trees across the region by 2030.
Somalia plans to plant 10 million trees as part of this effort, aligning with broader efforts to combat deforestation, enhance climate resilience, and promote sustainable environmental practices in the country.
The MGI initiative aims to address climate challenges and promote environmental sustainability across the Middle East and neighboring regions.
