Ambassador Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzumi, Somalia’s Minister of Environment and Climate Change, led the country’s delegation at high-level discussions in Baku.

The talks focused on enhancing global cooperation, establishing effective climate early warning systems, and implementing sustainable solutions to mitigate the impacts of climate change.

Her leadership emphasized Somalia’s commitment to resilience, innovation, and fostering international partnerships to tackle climate challenges.

This effort aligns with Somalia’s broader strategy to build sustainable and adaptive solutions in the face of climate vulnerabilities.

Al-Makhzumi led the Somali delegation at the recent 2024 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29), which was from November 11-22 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
