At the ongoing United Nations Climate Change Conference, otherwise known as COP29 World Leaders Climate Action Summit in Baku, Azerbaijan, Somalia’s Deputy Prime Minister Salah Jama delivered a powerful message on Tuesday.

In his address, Deputy PM Jama called for prompt and robust investment in resilience and adaptive strategies to combat climate challenges.

Highlighting Somalia’s vulnerability to climate impacts, he called on world leaders to break the cycle of crises by prioritizing sustainable solutions and proactive measures.

Jama emphasized that without collective action and investment, the escalating climate threats will continue to undermine global stability and resilience.

His appeal underscored Somalia’s commitment to a collaborative approach in addressing the climate crisis.
