The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has committed itself to help Somalia fight the effects of climate change in the country.

UNDP made this commitment on Sunday as part of its plans for 2025.

Such vital commitment from UNDP will help to address the pressing climate challenges in Somalia.

Initiatives such as irrigation and rangeland protection can significantly enhance agricultural productivity and reduce the risk of desertification.

Promoting alternative energy sources is crucial for reducing dependency on fossil fuels and unsustainable charcoal production.

Additionally, developing disaster response systems will help communities adapt to and recover from climate-related shocks like droughts and floods.

These efforts are essential for building long-term resilience and improving livelihoods across Somalia.
